Award-winning tour operator Wendy Wu Tours has celebrated a successful first year in the Irish market with over 100 passenger bookings and in excess of €300,000 in sales since January 2015. Throughout February Wendy Wu is offering upgrades to Business Class from just £99 on the return sector with Cathay Pacific, while clients can save up to €100 per person on fully escorted tours to China when flying with Emirates.
The first 12 months of business has generated more than €300,000 in sales for Wendy Wu Tours, highlighting the considerable interest from the Irish market in inclusive trips to China and South-East Asia.
Now an established operator in the Irish market, Wendy Wu Tours scooped ‘Best Newcomer’ at the Irish Travel Trade Awards in November and was shortlisted for ‘Best Escorted Tour Operator’ and ‘Best Specialist Tour Operator’ at the Irish Travel Industry Awards 2016.
New products available in the Irish market for 2016 include the launch of Discovery Tours, which allow guests to get under the skin of the destination with original itineraries and a range of cultural and adventure activities. Irish travellers can also enjoy the Exclusive Collection, which offers 5-star accommodation, luxury extras and life-changing experiences for the more discerning traveller, such as Tai Chi with a master or a guided tour of the Terracotta Warriors by one of the excavation team.
2016 will also see Wendy Wu Tours expand its tours beyond Asia for the first time in its history with the launch of two new tours in South America and South Africa.
Laurence Hicks, Managing Director, said: “The move into Ireland was an exciting prospect for Wendy Wu and we have seen a great demand in the last year from the Irish public to explore China and the East. We have seen strong figures in the past 12 months and we believe these will continue to grow in 2016 as Wendy Wu Tours expands its range of adventure, luxury and even worldwide packages.”
All prices are fully inclusive and cover international flights, all domestic transportation (including internal flights), touring with guides, all meals, accommodation, entrance fees and visa fees for EU passport holders.
Wendy Wu Tours was set up in 1994 by Wendy Wu herself and has since grown at a phenomenal rate, with offices currently in the UK, USA and Australia. The core Wendy Wu Tours product is in China, with tours also offered in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Burma, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, India and Sri Lanka – and now South Africa and South America.
