Washington DC is the capital of the United States for lots of good reasons and now hosting IPW 2017, one of the best ever, can be added to the list. This an annual event to promote travel to the USA is organised by the US Travel Association. The total attendance at this year’s event was more than 6,130, with more than 1,600 international buyers and media attending the event from 70 countries.
According to Roger Dow, President and Chief Executive, US Travel Association, long-haul travel around the world has grown by 31%, but long-haul travel to the USA has declined by 3%.
The US. Travel Association has found that host cities attract about one million additional international visitors over the three years following their hosting of the IPW conference. Those extra visitors generate an estimated direct economic impact of more than $890 million over that same three-year period.
