VIVA Cruises has launched new themed cruises on ‘SWISS RUBY’, its ‘culture ship’.
The new itineraries in 2023 will include historical-themed cruises as well as wine cruises.
The SWISS is smaller than many of the larger vessels, coming in at just 85 metres, so this allows it to access more narrow waterways such as the Neckar, Saar, Elbe and Ems rivers.
SWISS RUBY leads guests to the centre of Amsterdam, before continuing to Friesland through the Ems, and the Elbe-Havel Canal.
On arrival in the Hanseatic city of Minden (Germany), visitors will learn all about modern shipbuilding at the Meyer Werft shipyard.
The Northern Germany Explorer will launch in late summer 2023 with six different itineraries to choose from.
The seven-night cruises will explore modern German cities including Berlin, Hamburg and Dusseldorf.
