VIVA Cruises Announces the Christening of its Second Build Ship, VIVA TWO, in March 2023

River cruise specialist, VIVA Cruises, announces its expansion with its second build ship, VIVA TWO, in 2023.

After the launch of its first build ship in spring 2022, the Düsseldorf-based company is about to reach another significant milestone. On 23 March 2023, VIVA TWO will be christened in its home port of Düsseldorf and will set off on its maiden voyage from Frankfurt to Passau on 1 April.

Andrea Kruse, Managing Director of VIVA Cruises, said “We are delighted to be able to welcome nationally and internationally invited guests and business partners to our second major christening to celebrate our second new build ship, VIVA TWO, together with them and then to send her off on her first voyage.”

Arno Reitsma, Managing Director of VIVA Cruises and parent company Scylla AG, adds “Of course, we will also be using the day to present the new ship to our guests for the first time and to introduce them to our innovative concept in architecture and design as well as innovations in the technical area. Our new build ship, VIVA TWO, will make river cruising even more attractive.”

VIVA TWO has a total of 95 cabins for up to 190 passengers, making it the new flagship of the VIVA Cruises fleet. The architecture is also new, with an open lounge and restaurant area. The most significant technical innovation is the exhaust system of VIVA TWO, to which a catalytic converter and a particle filter have been added. This enables the vessel to meet the EU Stage V exhaust emission standard, which regulates strict compliance with emissions in both European and domestic inland shipping. What’s more, VIVA TWO, like all of VIVA Cruise’s ships, is equipped with technology to use land power in its moorings.
