This year has been designated Visit Malaysia year and Tourism Malaysia is targeting 28 million international visitors and US $23.3 billion in tourist receipts.

More than 200 events and festivals have been lined up for the Visit Malaysia year 2014, including world-class events such as the Formula 1 Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix, Malaysian Motor Cycle Grand Prix, Sarawak Regatta, Malaysian Open Kuala Lumpur World Tour, CIMB Classic PGA Tour and many more.
Malaysia is now the fourth best shopping destination in the world, and as such will offer mega sale events during the year such as 1Malaysia GP sale, 1Malaysia Mega Sale carnival and the 1Malaysia Year-end sale. Meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 will open on 2nd May this year and will cater for 45 million passengers.
