Virgin Voyages Remakes Culture Club’s ‘Karma Chameleon’

The cruise line has released an upbeat and vivid music video that brings viewers on a fun tour of a day onboard a Virgin Voyage.

Virgin Voyages, unveiled a joyful music video for Culture Club’s iconic 80s hit ‘Karma Chameleon’ as reimagined by R&B artist Drew Love.

Created in collaboration with creative agency VMLY&R, the song named ‘The Voyage,’ promotes the cruise line and its new expansion plans. It also marks the 40-year anniversary of the debut of the original ‘Karma Chameleon,’ which was released by Virgin Records – sister company to Virgin Voyages – and is among that record label’s all-time most successful songs.

The music video, directed by Jonas Akerlund, whose body of work includes material for The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Beyonce and other A-list artists, brings viewers aboard Virgin Voyage’s Scarlet Lady ship, offering a glimpse into life onboard.

“We have won the hearts and minds of hundreds of thousands of sailors who have fallen in love with Virgin Voyages because we created an experience everybody could love,” Virgin Voyages’ chief brand officer Nathan Rosenberg said in a statement. “As we continue to showcase our ships to the world, we wanted to share what it’s like on board based on what our sailors have told us and shared on social. It features real crew and is a celebration of travel and voyaging.”
