Villach Austria Lunch at Matt the Threshers

ITTN’s Ita Hendrick joined the team from Villach Austria and The Austrian Embassay including Josef Treml, Commercial Counsellor for the Austrian Embassy and Silvia Wirnsberger, Director of Business at Matt the Threshers for a lovely lunch yesterday to hear more about what the region has to offer.

The Villach region in the Carinthia region of Austria is a winter wonderland area, great for sunny skiing, cross-country skiing, thermal baths, and winter hiking trips.

Accessible from Dublin twice weekly with Ryanair’s flight from Dublin to Klagenfurt, it is a perfect spot for winter hiking groups.

This new flight also makes the resort of Bad Kleinkircheim accessible in 1 hour as well as the ski resorts of Slovenia in the Julian Alps.

Villach’s ski and thermal area, with amazing sunshine records, is only 35 minutes away from Klagenfurt Airport.

Villach’s Old Town has natural thermal waters. With two ski resorts of its own, the Dobratsch Nature Park allows cross-country skiing, ice-skating and ski touring in unspoilt nature.
