US Hubs Dominate New ‘World’s Busiest Airport’ Rankings

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport has topped a new list of the world’s busiest airports.

The study – by comparison website Compare the Market Australia – showed Dallas Fort Worth to have catered for nearly 81.8 million passengers last year, operating 945 flights per day and offering 259 destinations worldwide.

The US dominated the list, taking 4 places in the top 5 alone. Second busiest airport, last year, was Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International; with 106.6 million passengers and 861 daily flights to 240 locations.

Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport and Denver International Airport also made the top 5.

The only European location was Istanbul International Airport; which served over 76 million people last year.
