United has announced a new non-stop service next summer from Shannon to Chicago, effective from Friday 7th June to Tuesday 27th August 2013 (westbound dates), subject to government approval.
The five times weekly flights will depart Chicago O’Hare daily except Tuesday and Wednesday at 18.00 (flight UA66) and arrive in Shannon at 07.30 the following day. Return flight UA67 will depart Shannon daily except Wednesday and Thursday at 11.00 to arrive in Chicago at 13.05 the same day.
This flight will be operated by a B757-200 aircaft with 16 in BusinessFirst, 45 Economy Plus and 108 Economy seats – and seats are now on sale.
The new flights are conveniently timed to provide connections beyond Chicago to over 125 destinations across North, Central and South America and the Caribbean. United offers more non-stop services to more points from its Chicago O’Hare hub than any other carrier.
United’s BusinessFirst seat reclines 180 degrees into a 1.93m (6’4″) lie-flat bed and features an Audio/Video on Demand entertainment system with a 39cm (15.4”) touchscreen monitor. BusinessFirst amenities include laptop power, USB ports and a multi-course meal with complimentary wines.
Economy Plus offers up to 12.7cm (5”) of extra legroom. Located near the front of the Economy cabin, the seats give the added benefit of allowing a swifter exit from the aircraft on arrival.
Non-stop flights from Shannon to Chicago offer passengers the added convenience of US Customs and Immigration pre-clearance, allowing for more efficient connections or a streamlined arrival process at Chicago O’Hare.
