United Airlines, in conjunction with the Central Coast Tourism Council and San Francisco Travel, recently hosted eight Irish travel agents from across the country to the Golden State, California. Each agent had won a place on the trip from the airline’s recent booking incentive, which was open to everyone in the Irish travel trade.
The trip began with the group flying from Dublin with United to its New York/ Newark hub and then onward to San Francisco. Two nights were spent in San Francisco enjoying all of the sights and sounds of this wonderful city before commencing their journey down the stunning Pacific Coast Highway.
Pat Reede, Acting Sales Manager Ireland, said: “It was great to fly our travel trade friends to San Francisco via our New York/Newark and Washington/Dulles hubs, demonstrating the ease and efficiency of United’s connectivity to this popular destination.”
James Mead, Travel Trade Manager UK & Ireland for the Central Coast Tourism Council, said: “We were delighted to work with United Airlines on this fam trip. The Irish market is one that we value highly and so it was a great opportunity to get these agents out to California to see some of the very best that these destinations have to offer.”
Throughout their four days travelling down through the Central Coast they made stops in some of the famous landmarks along the way: Hearst Castle, San Luis Obispo, Pismo Beach, Solvang, Ventura, and Cambria to name a few.
Along the way the group got to sample some of California’s amazing culinary delights. From garlic inspired dishes in Gilroy to wine tasting just outside Solvang, amazing seafood overlooking the Pacific Ocean to breakfast burritos that kept them full all day, the group definitely did not go hungry!
After six nights in California the group returned back to Ireland on United from Los Angeles to Washington DC, where they connected for the flight back to Dublin.
