James Mueller, Vice President Atlantic and Pacific Sales, and Bob Schumacher, Managing Director UK & Ireland Worldwide Sales, were in Dublin to welcome the airline’s guests, along with Sales Manager Ireland Yvonne Muldoon and her team.

Bob Schumacher, after recalling the time 15 years ago when the Shannon stopover existd and aviation fuel was cheap (!), said that sales relationships were important in the airline business “and these are done particularly well by the United team in Ireland”.

Jim Mueller reflected on what people 15 years ago might have predicted for today: “electronic ticketing – yes; mobile phone boarding passes – no; oil at $100 a barrel – no!” Looking to the future, he said: “One has to be an optimist in the travel business and I am always an optimist. This is an exciting time for United with new products, services, and routes. Whatever happens in the next 15 years, we will remain committed to partnerships and you agents will remain a central part of our plans.”
