United Airlines has signed up as main shirt sponsor of Wrexham FC, which is owned by well-known Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny.
The move further shows the power of celebrity ownership – with Wrexham only just having regained Football League status and getting promoted to the 4th tier of English football for the first time in 15 seasons.
United will succeed TikTok as the club’s main sponsor.
“We seek out sponsors that match the spirit of both Wrexham Association Football Club and the people of Wrexham. We could think of no better sponsor for the next phase of our quest than United Airlines,” Reynolds and McElhenny said.
“The story of Wrexham AFC and their fans represents the best of what professional sports has to offer,” said United Airlines Chief Communications Officer Josh Earnest.
