UK Start-Up Airline Eyeing Gatwick-Los Angeles Route

A new UK airline, Global Airlines has been established with a view to shaking up the European transatlantic market.

Global has been established by British businessman James Asquith, who was formerly head of online holiday bookings and trading company Holiday Swap.

Global Airlines has already acquired its first plane – an Airbus A289, the so-called ‘superjumbo’ – plans more purchases and is, ultimately, eyeing the establishment of a new London Gatwick to Los Angeles route as early as next year.
