UK Holiday Villa Operator James Villas to Cease Trading

James Villas – the UK-headquartered European villa holiday rental firm – has announced that it will cease operating by the end of this year.

The company said, on its website, that it is no longer taking new bookings and will be closing down by the end of the year.

It added that any customers with bookings that return on or before November 30 will be unaffected by the closure and their bookings will go ahead as planned.

Bookings returning on or after December 1, however, will be cancelled. Affected customers will be given a full refund unless the property they have booked is also operated by a sister company, in which case the booking will be transferred.

The company said it is contacting all existing customers this week, concerning their bookings.

James Villas is owned by European holiday rental group Awaze and its closure of James will, reportedly, result in the loss of around 40 jobs.

It is understood that Awaze wishes to sell holiday villas that it exclusively manages, which is different to the James Villas model.
