This weekend, Borussia Dortmund and Turkish Airlines celebrated the opening of the Turkish Airlines Lounge in the club’s stadium.
The Turkish Airlines Lounge is located in the North-West section of the stadium and represents an innovation in Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park. With a capacity of 200 guests, the new facilities were jointly designed by Turkish Airlines and Borussia Dortmund. Before and after each home game, as well during half time, an area of 430 square metres offers the highest standards of comfort to the Borussia Dortmund’s spectator box guests and business partners. The elaborate design of the new lounge area reflects the atmosphere of the renowned Turkish Airlines’ International Lounge at the Atatürk Airport in Istanbul.
Turkish Airlines covers new ground with this new lounge. The service staff are dressed like the Turkish Airlines cabin crew. The new facilities further feature exquisite culinary treats, which include a selection of the finest Turkish desserts, coffee varieties and also Turkish tea.
Since the beginning of the current Bundesliga season, Turkish Airlines has been the Premium Airline Partner of Borussia Dortmund and flies the team to all international tournaments and matches. The partnership also covers advertising measures inside and outside the stadium as well as jointly organised events. The two partners are also co-operating on social media and promotion activities.
Faruk Çizmecioğlu, Chief Marketing Officer of Turkish Airlines, said: “With the new Turkish Airlines Lounge we are creating a visible sign of our involvement with the club, right in the stadium. We are convinced that guests in the Turkish Airlines Lounge will feel just as comfortable as on our airplanes.”
