TTM 2015+ Now Open for Buyer-Seller Registration

The Thailand Travel Mart Plus Amazing Gateway to the Greater Mekong Subregion (TTM+) 2015, the country’s largest annual B2B tourism and travel trade event, has been set for 3rd – 5th June, and has opened for early-bird registration by buyers and sellers.

Isan Explorer, a tour company specialising in the less-visited Northeast Thailand, has created three elephant-focused tours that protect the elephants' welfare. Participants spend a full day getting up close and personal with elephants, walking with and watching them in forest and at watering holes – and get to help the mahouts bathe the elephants in the Mun River.

To be held at the IMPACT Muang Thong Thani Convention and Exhibition Centre in Bangkok, the TTM+ will be organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand in co-operation with the Tourism Council of Thailand, Thai Hotels Association, Association of Thai Travel Agents, Thailand Incentive and Convention Association, Thai Eco Tourism and Adventure Travel Association, and tourism business sectors.

It is designed largely to showcase the emerging generation of creative small and medium sized enterprises to give them an opportunity to network with international buyers.

This year, the event is expected to be attended by more than 400 quality sellers across Thailand and the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) countries, especially Myanmar. In line with the TAT’s strategic marketing plan, the four major niche-market segments — Ecotourism, Health and Wellness, Wedding and Honeymoon, and Experience Thainess — will be highlighted in a special pavilion.

Buyers will also be able to get a complete range of product updates, avail of educational forums and take part in pre- and post-event tours to many new destinations being opened up around Thailand.

TAT Governor Thawatchai Arunyik said: “This year’s TTM+ will be an especially important event because of the extensive changes and improvements taking place in the entire regional operating environment.

“The advent of the ASEAN Community at the end of this year, the growing Asian Highway network, the presence of four bridges across the Mekong River, the opening up of Myanmar, increasing operations of low-cost airlines, and our own 2015 Discover Thainess campaign are just a few of the factors that make 2015 a very exciting year for Thai and GMS tourism.

“We encourage buyers, especially those with a proven business track record, to take advantage of the TTM+ and establish contacts with the many new products, services and facilities that will be exhibiting. We believe it will help them design creative and value-for-money tour options for many different customer segments.”
