Day Trip to Wales with Travel Partners Group

ITTN’s industry reporter Ita Hendrick is just back from an incredible fun filled day trip to Wales with Travel Partners Group (TPG) on Irish Ferries M.V Ulysses Cruise Ferry.

It was an early start of 7am at Irish Ferries Terminal Building where we were greeted by the fabulous Marie McCarthy of Irish Ferries. We boarded the very appropriately named ‘Mannings‘ coach for transfer on board Irish Ferries M.V Ulysses Cruise Ferry.

We set sail and had a delicious hot breakfast in the luxury Martello Club Class Lounge hosted by Irish Ferries followed by TPG member’s presentations and Duty Free Shopping. One couldn’t resist the offers on board from perfumes to alcohol & lots more.

The crossing took approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes, plenty of time to chill & catchup. We arrived in Holyhead and we headed by coach to see Caernarfon Castle & town. Caernarfon is home to Wales’ most famous castle and an UNESCO World Heritage Site. We had fab lunch and drinks at the Anglesey Arms Hotel in Caernarfon hosted by TPG followed by a trip to the town/railway station/tourist attraction in Wales with the longest name in the World ‘Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch‘.

We had great craic trying to pronounce same. (You try it) It goes like this LIan-vire-pooll-guin-gill-go-ger-u-queern-drob-ooll-llandus-ilio-gogo-goch.

At 4:15pm we checked in at Holyhead to board the Dublin Swift Fast Ferry. We had the pleasure of experiencing the luxury of The Trinity Club Class Lounge with reclining leather seats and front window views where there was more drinks & food provided courtesy of Irish Ferries.

Great craic was had by all during the day and we arrived back in Dublin Port at precisely 7:30pm, a very ‘swift’ journey. A huge thank you to Marie McCarthy and all of TPG I had the best time.
