One travel industry supplier won three, and three suppliers each won two, of the 23 Irish Travel Trade Awards 2014 presented at the Irish Travel Industry Christmas Party at the DoubleTree by Hilton Dublin – Burlington Road, on Friday night – including a delighted Travelport who again won the coveted ‘Best Agent Friendly Supplier’ overall award, as well as regaining ‘Best Travel Technology Provider’.
All staff working for a licensed and bonded travel agency anywhere on the island of Ireland were eligible to vote and the voting forms were submitted directly to, and then independently collated and audited, by international accountants and consultants Grant Thornton.
All fully completed, eligible Voting Forms received were entered into a prize draw, with the winner being randomly selected by Grant Thornton’s computer. Andrea McHugh, Curragh Travel, Newbridge, Co Kildare, was announced the winner of the Irish Travel Trade Awards Voters Prize of a trip for two to Malta, including return flights ex-Dublin to Malta, plus accommodation for three or four nights (depending on flight schedules) in a 4-star hotel, courtesy of the Malta Tourism Authority and Irish Travel Trade News.
