Travel Counsellors and supplier sponsors prepared themselves last night for today’s ‘Switch On’ conference at the Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny with a barn-storming Rock ‘n’ Roll Bingo session led by Bob Conway of Today FM.
The winners of the overall top prize of a magnum of champagne were (we modestly report!) Team 3 comprising Travel Counsellors John and Mary Foyle, Lorraine Lawless, Bernie Whelan, Sherry Meagle, Kay Marshall, Karen Maloney, Etihad Airways, and Neil Steedman, Irish Travel Trade News. At the beginning each team had to give themselves a name and Team 3, with great confidence and foresight, had named themselves ‘The Winners’!
The conference is being attended by more than 120 delegates, including 46 Travel Counsellors and 50 representatives from 40 supplier sponsors. The welcome party, which included delicious Thai food, was sponsored by Emirates and Tourism Authority of Thailand, while earlier in the day a welcome lunch was sponsored by Etihad Airways.
