Travel Counsellors Support Travel Trade Family Fun Day 2016

Travel Counsellors were delighted to be Silver Sponsor at the 2016 Travel Trade Family Fun Day, which took place on Sunday 28th August at Wanderers FC Rugby Club in Ballsbridge, Dublin. Sixty people travelled from all parts of the country to enjoy the family get-together.

The charity event was organised by members of the travel industry and this year’s event included some great fun activities such as a 5-a-side football tournament in which the Travel Counsellors team reached the quarter finals. Other activities enjoyed by TC children included mini-golf, novelty races – egg and spoon racing, sack racing, and much more.

Travel Counsellors were very visible in their bright pink t-shirts. The company held the competition for the children, nieces/nephews and grandchildren of TCs to design a t-shirt. The winner of the competition was Andre Bedford’s daughter Maolísa, aged 9, and her design featured on the TC t-shirts on the day, with the slogan: ‘Passion for Travel? It’s time to run your own business.’

Bernie Whelan, Travel Counsellors Ireland, said: “This day is a fabulous opportunity for people to share the fun side of the travel industry with their families – and for colleagues or peers in travel to meet each other’s families too.

“We had lots of our Travel Counsellors travel from all parts of the country to enjoy the family get-together, including from Cork, Galway, Louth, Kildare, Wicklow, Dublin and more. I really want to commend the organisers and the volunteers for all the hard work and preparation that is involved in organising this event. This family day is all the more special because it supports some great charities.”
