Travel Counsellors is celebrating after achieving “remarkable” sales in January, including its highest ever selling day in the company’s 18-year history.
Along with the global success, Travel Counsellors Ireland has smashed all previous records in January by achieving sales of almost €3 million beating the previous best month of January 2012. The sales month has seen seven of its top 30 sales days in its history in Ireland during January 2013 and overall sales for January were up by 15% from the previous year.
The international company broke all previous sales records on Friday 11th January, achieving a sales total of €2.8 million, beating the previous best day of €2.67 million in January 2012 by 5%.
At the beginning of the month the company launched a major worldwide sales incentive across the seven countries in which it operates, with over 1,200 Travel Counsellors participating to win an exclusive trip to Cyprus. Two of Ireland’s Travel Counsellors, Mandy Walsh and Donna Olohan, were worldwide team captains, leading their teams throughout the month. The ‘Battle for Aphrodite’ sees 32 teams competing in the incentive, with agents winning ‘heats’ for their teams based on bookings made. The challenge proved a huge success and a great way to encourage the company’s agents to succeed in the busy January month, while having fun and creating a strong sense of camaraderie across the worldwide network.
General Manager Cathy Burke said: “We are delighted to have seen such a fantastic start to the year for our Travel Counsellors. It is a testament on how hard they work and that with the right attitude, skills and support, it is possible to grow your business in what we all realise is a tough market. This is reflected with 18 agents having their best ever sales month in January, including Mary Foyle who has been with the company since its launch in Ireland. I am so proud of the whole team, particularly those who have experienced their first January as a TC.”
The company has also experienced its best ever sales day for its own in-house dynamic packaging system Phenix, which gives its Travel Counsellors the ability to set their own commission, greatly increasing their earning potential and allowing them to tailor make exactly the right itinerary to suit their clients’ needs.
Travel Counsellors operates in Ireland, the UK, the Netherlands, South Africa, Australia, Canada and Dubai.
