Travel Counsellors Moves to ‘Next Level’ by Acquiring Itinerary Management Tech Firm Planisto

Travel Counsellors Ireland boss Cathy Burke has hailed the company’s acquisition of travel planning tech firm Planisto, saying it will take Travel Counsellors “to the next level”.

Travel Counsellors has enhanced its standing in the premium travel market by acquiring bespoke holiday itinerary management tech platform Planisto.

Travel Counsellors had already made a move towards this, recently investing £15m of itinerary software to improve its existing Phenix digital personal travel tech platform.

Cathy Burke, Managing Director, Travel Counsellors Ireland said: “This is a very exciting development for all of us in the Travel Counsellors Global Community. We are already known for our tech here in Ireland amongst our Travel Counsellors and Business Partners, but this acquisition will bring us to the next level.”

This is only Travel Counsellors’ second ever acquisition, following its purchase of luxury holiday seller Holidaysplease early last year.

Travel Counsellors chief executive Steve Byrne was quoted as saying the acquisition of Planisto has been on TC’s radar “for some time” and the deal “perfectly aligns with our vision”.
