Travel Counsellors Conference Highlights at Powerscourt

Travel Counsellors, head office team members and a host of special guests recently joined together at the 5-star Powerscourt Hotel Resort and Spa in Co Wicklow for two days of inspiration, motivation and exciting announcements at the company’s annual conference.

The event was organised by the Head Office Cork team (above) of Rachael O’Connell, Caitriona Kelleher, Cathy Burke, Bernie Whelan and Ciara MacConnell. With 60-plus Travel Counsellors and over 50 suppliers, including airlines, hoteliers, cruise companies and more, the weekend was filled with prestige, glamour and enjoyment.

The event was underpinned throughout by the theme ‘The Power of Now’, which highlighted the benefits of being a Travel Counsellor and celebrated the growth and success over the past year, as well as looking towards the future and the exciting developments ahead.

The conference involved a host of activities including a welcome party where delegates and Travel Counsellors had the opportunity to meet and greet and which included complimentary drinks, a burger bar buffet and an enjoyable table quiz.

During the business sessions, Travel Counsellors came together to hear from members of key management about the latest news and initiatives to help support them in growing their businesses.

A surprise guest speaker, Niall Breslin (Bressie), delivered a personal yet motivational speech about his journey and shared his ‘Top Tips for Mental Fitness’.

A supplier exhibition saw a record number of 55 of the company’s business partners attend, where agents were able to meet directly with representatives from a host of airlines, tourist boards, destination management companies, hotels, tour operators and other key suppliers and learn more about their products and destinations.

The two-day event concluded with a glamorous gala dinner and awards ceremony.

Cathy Burke, General Manager Ireland, said: “Our business keeps getting bigger and better with each passing year, while 2016 is already breaking a number of records for us. On a personal level, I am very proud of our 60-plus Travel Counsellors and head office support team because together we have built a company based on trust and caring, on building relationships and always going one step further for our customers.”
