Friday (23rd) June saw TIGS (Travel Industry Golf Society) take to the course for the annual Captain’s Day event, which was hosted by Captain Marian Benton at her home course at Balbriggan Golf Club.
Captain Marian described the course as a hidden gem and she was spot on! The event commenced at 12:30pm and saw 35 golfers take to the course. There were a multitude of winners on the day and some of the noteable awards included:
Guest Prize – Hamish Stewart 40pts
Nearest The Pin Men – Jason Whelan
Nearest The Pin Women – Eileen Penrose
1st Prize Men – Keith Raymond 38pts
1st Prize Women – Eileen Penrose 38pts
Overall Winner – Olwen McKinney 41pts
Amadeus was the sponsor on the day and everyone enjoyed goody bags and a drink in the bar following play. A delicious dinner followed in the restaurant with prize giving afterwards.
The next installment of TIGS will take place on the 21st July at Castleknock Golf Club and is a fun BBQ outing.
