Foreign arrivals into Thailand will need to show proof they’ve been vaccinated against covid as of this morning.
The new entry requirements were issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand on Saturday.
The only exemptions are those who can prove they’ve recovered from covid, or are under 18, or are arrivals who have a doctor’s letter showing they have a valid reason for refusing vaccination.
Adult foreign tourists must show proof they’ve received at least two doses of a recognised covid vaccine.
This new policy will stay in place until at least the end of January.
Airlines will be required to check passengers comply with the new rules before boarding flights.
Thai Airways have issued this message on its website:
From 09th January 2023, 08.00 am local time (Bangkok), all passengers visiting Thailand must present a valid vaccination certificate showing that they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with accredited vaccines.
The new rules do not apply to Thai nationals or those only in transit in Thailand.
