The national carrier of Romania, Tarom, has commenced a new service from Dublin to Bucharest. The new service will operate three times per week. The outward flight RO 398 will depart from Dublin at 00.20 and arrive in Bucharest at 06.05. Return flight RO 397 departs Bucharest at 21.30 and arrives Dublin at 23.30.
Vincent Harrison of the Dublin Airport Authority welcomed the airline back to Dublin and noted that the Bucharest service is one of nine new routes from Dublin so far this year. Passenger numbers are up by 3% year-on-year to date with more than 5.5 million passengers going through the airport.
Tarom, a member of the SkyTeam Alliance, offers good one-stop connections to Cairo, Tel Aviv and Sofia. Seat availability in year one will be more than 55,000. There are now between 35,00 and 40,000 Romanian citizens living in Ireland.
