TAP Air Portugal Cements Commitment to Brazil by Flying Emergency Humanitarian Aid to Flood Victims in Rio Grande

TAP Air Portugal has flown more than 11 tonnes of emergency humanitarian aid on a specially chartered flight to help the victims of the devastating floods in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande.

The exclusive cargo-only flight was organised by TAP and the Portuguese government carrying essential items, such as clothes and hygiene products, in 1,195 boxes, weighing 11,317 kilos with a volume of 100 cubic meters.

The Airbus A330-900 neo, flew with two pilots and two specially selected Cabin Crew, direct from Lisbon Airport, departing at 10:10 am on Tuesday, May 28, arriving into São Paulo at 5:00 pm local time. 

Along with essential humanitarian aid, TAP expressed its deepest sympathies and solidarity with all those affected by the terrible floods in Rio Grande do Sul.

TAP Air Portugal reiterated its unshakeable commitment to the Brazilian market, operating more flights to Brazil than any other European airline, with 96 weekly flights and direct connections to 11 major cities across the country.
