Fade Street Social took on a very Swiss atmosphere as Heidi Reisz of Swiss Tourism, Corin Ursprung of Swiss Travel System, and Helen Fyfe of Swiss International Airlines introduced their latest products to the Irish trade and media.
This year is the 150th anniversary of winter tourism in Switzerland – 2013 and 2015 are also big anniversary years, celebrating the first Thomas Cook tour from the UK to Switzerland in 1863 – The Grand Tour as it was known in those far off days – while 2015 celebrates the first ascent of the Matterhorn in 1865.
The exceptional air, rail, bus and boat transport system makes travel a real pleasure for today’s visitors. Both winter and summer (Lakes and Mountains) programmes are now available to the adventurous traveller.
Skiing and all winter sports are, of course, the main attractions in the world-famous resorts, along with the excellent cuisine and nightlife that make Switzerland a unique experience for today’s traveller.
