SWISS has extended its partnership with AirPortr – the London-based same-day luggage delivery service – following a successful trial period.
Switzerland’s flag carrier has been using AirPortr’s service at Geneva Airport on a trial basis. The airline will now expand the service to its operations at Zurich Airport, allowing it to offer ‘smart baggage’ services to addresses across Switzerland.
AirPortr collects travellers’ bags from their homes or hotels, transports them to the airport and checks them on to their flight; thus removing the stress of time-consuming baggage drop queues for the customer. For travellers flying into Zurich, the company also collects their bags from the airport, clears them through customs and delivers them to the customer’s home or hotel.
“The popularity of this simple ground baggage transport service between people’s homes and Geneva Airport has shown us already that there is a strong demand for coming to the airport less burdened with bags,” said SWISS’ chief commercial officer Tamur Goudarzi Pour.
