Why travel with us

Explore takes travellers closer to their destination, its culture and its people in unscripted, impossible-to-replicate ways, making every holiday truly unique.  Our small group sizes – on average just 11 people per group – are small enough to get right to the heart of our destinations, but big enough to ensure travellers meet like-minded people.

A few key stats

  • Great for solos – 64% of our bookings come from solo travellers, and typically around half the people in any group will be travelling solo. So you’ll be in great company!
  • Most Explore travellers come from the UK, but we sell to customers worldwide with key markets including North America, Australia, New Zealand and Europe.
  • Explore’s customers love us! We hold a Feefo Platinum Trusted Service Award for achieving a rating of over 4.5 / 5 for three consecutive years
  • We are a B Corp Certified business and won several awards for sustainable travel practices

Who is travelling with us

Explore tours are a broad church and our trips appeal to travellers of different generations – while on average our customers are between 40-60, it’s not unusual to be in a group with customers in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s and even 70s. These travellers are united by their love for travel and their attitude to the world: they’re well-travelled, well-educated, well-read, intelligent and curious about the world. Our travellers want to truly experience the destination they’re visiting, to get to know local people, cultures and customs and come home feeling they’ve learned.

Key product highlights

We offer a wide range of tours, dedicated to suit the varied travel preferences of our customers. These are our top travel genres:

Cultural discovery adventures – Classic Discovery trips take you to extraordinary destinations around the globe. They are designed to immerse you in what makes each destination special – whether it’s cultural gems and must-see landmarks, food experiences, or local wildlife.

Walking adventures – exploring on foot is one of the best ways to discover a new destination, and our range of trips cover everything from gentle walks through vineyards to spectacular coastal routes and more challenging mountain treks.

Cycling adventures – Our small-group cycling tours are a fantastic way to explore a destination under your own steam. Cycling allows you to immerse yourself in a country’s landscapes and communities. Whether it’s a gentle ride through France or a more challenging tour of the Atlas Mountains, we’ve got you covered – and we offer e-bikes too!

Family adventures – Our collection of inspiring family adventures is planned around school holidays, and all departures are accompanied by expert tour leaders, who are chosen for their passion and experience of leading engaging trips for families.

Upgraded adventures – Our newest collection, Explore Upgraded, is everything you know and love about an Explore holiday – small groups, expert tour leader, unforgettable experiences with a light footprint – with upgraded stays to offer that little extra comfort at the end of a long day’s exploring.

Polar voyages – Whether you choose to venture north to the Arctic Ocean or go to the southernmost continent of Antarctica, we have a variety of once in a lifetime polar expeditions to choose from.
