Happy Chinese New Year – Hainan Airlines celebrates increasing their schedule to an all year-round service from Dublin Airport!

With the Year of the Snake, Hainan Airlines are delighted to announce their growth to all year-round flights from Dublin Airport to Beijing, China with return fares starting at €480pp (January 10 2025 – March 31 2025).
Hainan Airlines will operate four direct flights to Beijing per week throughout Summer and two flights per week in Winter. The Airbus A330-300 will operate flights to Beijing on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Chinese New Year
Chinese Lunar New Year is one of the most significant cultural celebrations celebrated by millions worldwide. The 15-day festival kicks off with the first new moon according to the Chinese lunisolar calendar and finishes with the Lantern Festival on the following full moon.
During the Chinese New Year, Beijing, a city steeped in history and modernity, comes alive with festivity with a wide array of cultural experiences ranging from temple fairs to modern entertainment, the capital city is a thrilling place to celebrate the year of the snake.
Hainan, known for its tropical climate and multicultural influences, adds unique regional touches to traditional Chinese New Year celebrations. Families come together for a New Year’s Eve feast that includes fresh seafood and local favourites such as Hainanese chicken rice. The practice of making offerings to ancestors reflect deep family traditions in the region.
In Northern China, Dumplings (jiaozi) are a staple dish symbolising prosperity and family unity. While in Southern China dishes such as rice cakes (nian gao) are more popular.
