Sunway Cancels Flights to Tunisia

Following the recent events in Tunisia, and the tragic deaths of three Irish holiday makers, Lorna Carty, Laurence Hayes and Martina Hayes, Sunway is working closely with the Department of Foreign Affairs, the company’s management in Tunisia and with all other relevant parties.

A company statement issued last week said: “All the team in Ireland and abroad working for Sunway Holidays wish to extend our most sincere condolences to the Carty and Hayes families, and to all customers and families affected by this tragedy.

“Due to the current uncertain situation in Tunisia, Sunway has decided to suspend the weekly flight schedule to Monastir from this Friday 3rd July until the situation is clarified. Our return flight on Friday 3rd July from Monastir to Dublin will go ahead as scheduled. We have not taken this decision lightly but believe it to be in the best interests of our customers.

As always our customers are our priority and we appreciate that this may be a disappointment to them. We are, however, offering our customers who have booked Tunisia the following options.

  1. An alternative Sunway Holiday of equal value. (For prices higher than originally paid, any additional cost will be incurred by the customer, if the price is lower, Sunway will refund the difference.)
  2. A full refund of monies paid to date.

Customers who wish to make alternative arrangements can call our dedicated Tunisia helpline on 01 – 231 1805.
