Summer France – the French holiday accommodation specialist – has announced the opening of Semaphore d’Etel, a unique accommodation in Brittany, Northern France.
Located on the Etel estuary, this former maritime signal station has been carefully transformed into two modern apartments, offering stunning views and direct access to nature.
This new addition complements the company’s extensive collection of holiday accommodations across southern and western France.
Each room and the terraces at the Semaphore d’Etel benefit from views of this exceptionally vast and unique landscape; think dunes and unspoilt nature. At high tide, one of the apartments affords a stunning view of the ocean. Furthermore, these two apartments sleep individually two/three people or four people and can be combined to accommodate six to seven people.
Guests can make use of the bicycles provided on site, and from April to September, a shuttle service allows guests to cross the Etel River between the Semaphore side and the other side of the estuary, the port of Etel, where guests can bring the bicycles along for the ride. WiFi, TV, and cleaning services are also included.
The Guardian of the Breton coast, the Semaphore of Etel, has transformed into a unique and unusual place to stay.
Once used as a method of visual signalling, usually using flags or lights to transmit messages between distant points, this reinvention offers guests a unique opportunity to stay in an iconic building, a symbol of the maritime traditions of Brittany while enjoying modern amenities.
Nestled on the estuary of Etel in southern Brittany, at the heart of the prestigious Grand Site of the Wild Dunes of Gâvres to Quiberon, the Semaphore of Etel offers guests two elegant and comfortable lodgings, where the river meets the sea.
Guests can immerse themselves in nature and enjoy breathtaking views of the pink sandy beaches of the Isle of Groix. The location is also a short drive from the renowned 7,000-year-old standing stones of Carnac, making it an ideal destination for history enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
