Strong Tourism Numbers Bring Down Spanish Unemployment

Unemployed numbers for Spain have fallen for the first time in two years, according to official figures just released. The rate was 26.3% for the second quarter, a reduction from 27.2% in the first quarter, with the number of unemployed falling to just below six million.

Strong tourism numbers are being credited with the decrease in unemployment, tourism accounts for 10% of  Spain’s Gross Domestic Product.
