Strike at Berlin-Brandenburg Airport Grounds 445 Flights; Disrupts 60,000 Passengers

Nearly 60,000 passengers have been stranded by strike action at Berlin-Brandenburg Airport, with all flights to/from the hub being halted.

Around 445 flights were cancelled today; disrupting around 57,000 passengers, due to a strike by workers covered by the Ver.di services union, over wage levels.

The move follows widespread disruption at German airports caused by striking Lufthansa pilots over the past week.

Reports suggest that no fresh talks between Ver.di and Berlin Airport’s management have been arranged; leaving the door open for continued disruption and more strike action.
