Shackelton, Hurtigruten and the Antarctic

Little did Sir Ernest Shackelton realise that when he set out with 28 men on his trans-Antarctic expedition in 1914 that, 100 years later, an exhibition to commemorate his great courage would be the backdrop to a promotion by Hurtigruten in the Royal St George Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire.

The Hurtigruten team of Maxine Dunsdon, Danny Giles and Ron Carlisle were on hand to show how to re-enact a visit to the Antarctic in the comfort of their deluxe ships. After a barbecue, the agents were given an in-depth presentation by Danny Giles.

Hurtigruten is organising a special cruise with direct flights from and to Dublin, to view the Arctic Highlights. The package is a five-day trip departing on 16th February 2015.
