The Senior PGA Professional Championship is riding on the crest of a wave after securing a three-year sponsorship deal with Silversea Cruises.
In a world of multi-national conglomerates, Silversea Cruises is owned and operated by one family, the Lefebvres of Rome. This means genuine pride in ownership and a true Italian passion for embracing the best of life and a personal commitment to maintain the high standards of cruise excellence that have been the cornerstone of Silversea from the very beginning.
The company is due to expand its fleet to nine iconic cruise ships, which sail to more than 800 destinations on all seven continents including Sydney, Cape Town, the Galapagos Islands, Antarctica, the Caribbean and Mediterranean seas.
In addition to headline sponsorship of the Senior PGA Professional Championship, which teed off at Foxhills last month, Silversea has also joined the PGA’s Official Supplier programme.
“This is a partnership that unites two strong brands in a mutually beneficial agreement,” said Lisa McAuley, Commercial Director UK & Ireland, Silversea Cruises. “The PGA is an association with a rich heritage that will add to the already extensive list of enhancements available to our guests by uniting two experts in their respective fields together. We are delighted to be working with the PGA and look forward to a prosperous future.”
Robert Maxfield, PGA Deputy Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted to welcome Silversea as sponsor of the Senior PGA Professional Championship and PGA Official Supplier. The championship has a rich heritage and is an important tournament on the PGA calendar. Silversea’s support will greatly enhance the championship and we look forward to working with Silversea for many years to come.”
