Seeking a Black Friday Bargain? Holidaymakers Urged to Remember Travel Insurance

Those seeking holiday bargains this coming Black Friday and Travel Tuesday are being urged to include travel insurance in their overall purchases to avoid the risk of their dream getaway turning into a nightmare stay.

As holidaymakers flock to secure deals, Multitrip.com is reminding holidaymakers of the importance of purchasing holiday cover as soon as they book a holiday, or “ASAB”, to ensure their coverage begins immediately.

Last year, 63% of Multitrip.com travel insurance policies were bought less than 7 days prior to departure, meaning a significant number of holidaymakers ran the risk of not being able to recover the cost of their holiday should they have needed to cancel their trip.

Jason Whelan of Multitrip.com emphasised: “You might find Black Friday and Travel Tuesday holiday deals, make sure to arrange your travel insurance as soon as you book your holiday. With annual Travel Insurance policies starting at €19.95, there is no reason for anybody travelling abroad to not have a Travel Insurance policy.

“The cost of travel insurance doesn’t get any cheaper if you leave it to the last minute, so there’s really no benefit to delaying, in fact you are missing out on essential protection. Travel insurance is too important to be an afterthought.”
