SAS Scandinavian Airlines and Air Europa Sign Codeshare Agreement

SAS Scandinavian Airlines and Spanish carrier Air Europa have signed a new codeshare agreement.

The partnership will expand both airlines’ reach and enhance connectivity between Scandinavia and Iberia.

SAS’ passengers will gain greater connectivity as the airline starts placing its code on Air Europa’s flights connecting Madrid-Barajas with the popular Spanish destinations, Alicante, Barcelona, Vigo, Málaga, A Coruña, Bilbao, Palma de Mallorca, Gran Canaria, Tenerife Norte, as well as Lisbon and Oporto in Portugal.

Air Europa travellers will benefit from increased travel options to Scandinavia, including SAS’ new direct flights between Madrid and its main hub in Copenhagen, set to launch on April 11, 2025. In addition, they will have access to several other key destinations across Scandinavia, including Aarhus, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Oslo, Trondheim, Stavanger, and Bergen.

We are pleased to announce our new codeshare partnership with Air Europa, granting our customers more travel options to the Iberian Peninsula. With SAS’ daily flights from Copenhagen to Madrid, we are improving connectivity between Scandinavia and key destinations across Spain and beyond. This collaboration enables both SAS and Air Europa to offer seamless connections and an exceptional travel experience, all backed by the strength of SkyTeam,” said Paul Verhagen, Chief Commercial Officer at SAS.

Starting this summer, SAS’ customers will also have access to routes in other parts of Air Europa’s network, including North Africa, the Caribbean, and South America, with destinations such as Marrakech, Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, and Salvador de Bahia.

“This agreement with SAS will expand customer choice by adding 20 new routes to our joint offering. Thanks to codesharing, customers will simplify their flight planning and enjoy an equal level of service quality as a result of our membership in the SkyTeam alliance. We are confident that it will be a success for both airlines,” said Imanol Pérez, Commercial Director at Air Europa.
