SAS Scandinavian Airlines, Air Canada, BA & Turkish Airlines Top Latest Punctuality Charts

SAS Scandinavian Airlines was the most punctual airline, globally, in May, according to latest monthly performance data from aviation analyst Cirium.

May’s operational landscape proved challenging. Global flight cancellations surged 31%, with the Asia-Pacific region accounting for over half (53%) of the total. North America also faced significant disruption, contributing nearly a quarter (23%) of cancellations, largely attributed to severe weather conditions during the Memorial Day travel season.

SAS achieved an 89.72% on-time performance during the month. Other top performers in Europe included Turkish Airlines and British Airways. In North America, Air Canada led the region for the first time, with an on-time performance of just over 79%.

Virgin Australia emerged as the new punctual leader in Asia-Pacific.
