SAS Orders New Long-Haul Airbus Fleet

Scandinavian Airlines has signed an agreement with Airbus for the order of eight new A350-900 XWB and four A330-300 Enhanced aircraft

The agreement marks the launch of the airline’s long-haul strategy of an extensive fleet renewal plan, options for more aircraft, and a total upgrade of passenger cabins on existing fleet.

The first A350-900 will be ready to deliver in 2018, with delivery of the new A330 Enhanced as early as 2015. In the meantime, cabins in several of the airline’s A330/340s will be upgraded with new seats, including flat seats in Business Class and a new inflight entertainment system. The cabin upgrade is scheduled for completion in 2015.
