Travel Counsellor Sarah McCarthy, who made €1,321,000 in sales last year and a record monthly figure of €235,000 in January this year, was pronounced ‘Best TC’ at the Travel Counsellors Ireland annual conference at Fota Island resort this weekend – and the TCs voted Topflight as their Best Supplier.
Gold TCs, who earn at least £36,000 (€46,800 in Ireland), are producing about 10% of TC business worldwide, while in Ireland the top three each earn more than €85,000. In addition, in the UK about 10% of all TCs are in corporate travel – but 50% of Gold TCs are in corporate travel. Some 70% of Travel Counsellors’ global growth is now coming from corporate travel.
There are some 50 TCs in the Republic of Ireland, but Travel Counsellors is confident that this will double to 100 within a year or so – with around 90 having travel trade experience and the other 10 coming from a new Travel Counsellors Academy to be established in Cork for new entrants to the travel industry.
