Santorini Earthquake Fear Latest: Tourists Flee Island; Greek PM Urges Calm

Hundreds of tourists have fled the idyllic Greek holiday island of Santorini in recent days after seismic activity which has raised fears of an earthquake.

The island – a popular cruise ship stop-off – witnessed a number of tremors, with a magnitude of more than 4 on Monday, resulting in disaster response units being deployed on precautionary grounds. Greece is located on numerous fault lines and is no stranger to earthquakes. Local experts expect the current seismic action to last for some time.

Despite Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis calling for calm, multitudes of tourists have left the island in the last couple of days.
