Salou: a Natural Gem Just Waiting to Be Discovered

As many already know, Salou is a family destination and holiday hotspot par excellence. Visitors who come to spend a few days in the city have a privileged setting to discover. Its beautiful and typically Mediterranean landscapes and seemingly endless kilometres of clean beaches with shallow waters are safe and well-equipped, with full services, which have contributed to Salou developing into an excellent tourist enclave specialising in sun and beach holidays. It has even been baptised with the nickname of ‘Europe’s beach’. Europe’s beach

One of the things that Salou is most famous for is its extensive leisure offering, undoubtedly topped by PortAventura, a theme park offering fun and enjoyment for the whole family. However, there are also treasures that are not so well known, which visitors will surely love, such as the Camí de Ronda, a pedestrian trail running along the coast from Replanells to Llenguadets cove. This route has great tourist value, due to the stunning beauty and virgin landscapes – a veritable gem awaiting discovery.

Far from the city’s most touristy areas is this 2.4 kilometre route, which is accessible for all ages. The Camí de Ronda gives visitors the chance to wander along the coast seeing many areas that were impossible to get to until recently.

Salou, natural gem

This path has delicate wood walkways and sturdy stone bridges and leads to one of the main geographical points of the coast lying just within Tarragona, the Cap de Salou, from where you will enjoy views that are hard to put into words. The maximum height of the path is 77 metres above sea level. Works will continue and will extend the path to Cala Crancs and finally to Recó de Vila-seca in La Pineda.

The Camí de Ronda is not a conventional promenade, but more of a path, so that there are sections that are a bit more difficult, although a good part is accessible to all. Visitors will enjoy the spectacular views of the beaches, sea and coves along the way to Cap Salou.
