South African Airways has topped the list of the most on-time airlines in the world, according to a report produced by FlightStats Inc, an independent entity and a leading provider of global flight and airport information services.
South African Airways took the top spot with 92.26% of flights departing on time during March. SAA was one of the only two major international carriers that delivered over 90% of their flights on time in the month.
In addition, SAA’s international long-haul and regional Premium Class customers will be able to enjoy Taittinger Brut Reserve onboard as the airline introduces the champagne to its list of award-winning wines and champagnes served.
Gary Kershaw, SAA UK & Ireland General Manager, said: “We take enormous pride in our product and performance. At London Heathrow we consistently out-perform the target we set for on-time departures, despite the fact that Heathrow is one of the world’s busiest airports, and leads the list in Europe.”
The airline, whose motto is ‘Bringing the world to Africa and taking Africa to the world’, offers double daily overnight flights from Heathrow to Johannesburg, and on to over 30 destinations in Southern Africa.
