South African Airways has scooped the ‘Airline of the Year to Africa’ Award at the Travel Agents Choice Awards 2013. The winners were nominated and voted for by UK travel agents, and are designed to acknowledge star performers in the travel industry.
Gary Kershaw, UK & Ireland Country Manager for South African Airways, who accepted the award on behalf of SAA at World Travel Market, said: “It is a great credit to our staff and the service they provide for South African Airways to be recognised by awards such as these within the travel industry.
“We pride ourselves on being the award-winning national airline for Africa, bringing the world to Africa and taking Africa to the world. It is always especially pleasing to win an Award that is voted for by the travel trade themselves.”
South African Airways currently offers direct double daily flights between London Heathrow and Johannesburg and serves over 30 destinations within Africa on a fleet of Airbus A330 and A340s.
