Ryanair has reported its highest-ever monthly passenger traffic, carrying 20.7 million passengers in July 2025 — a new record for Europe’s largest low-cost carrier. The figures, released today, represent a 3% year-on-year increase, up from 20.2 million passengers in July 2024.

The airline operated over 113,000 flights during the month, maintaining robust scheduling performance despite ongoing disruption in European airspace. Notably, 680 flights were cancelled, primarily due to air traffic control strikes in France — a persistent challenge for carriers operating across the continent during peak summer periods.

Despite these cancellations, Ryanair reported a load factor of 96%, consistent with July 2024. This high seat occupancy underscores the airline’s ongoing success in managing capacity and pricing to optimise aircraft utilisation.

12-Month Passenger Traffic Exceeds 203 Million

On a rolling 12-month basis, Ryanair carried 203.1 million passengers as of the end of July 2025, marking a 7% increase year-on-year. This sustained growth trajectory highlights the continued recovery and expansion of air travel across Ryanair’s European and North African network.

The July figures reflect strong demand for summer travel, supported by the airline’s aggressive pricing model and expansive schedule across both primary and secondary airports. Ryanair’s continued focus on cost efficiency and high-frequency routes has enabled it to maintain its position as Europe’s leading airline by passenger numbers.

The record-breaking passenger performance in July reinforces Ryanair’s long-term growth strategy, which includes continued fleet expansion and a focus on underserved markets.
