Ryanair Passenger Numbers Surge 9%

Ryanair carried 17.4 million passengers across its route network last month, equating to a 9% year-on-year increase for June.

The airline’s load factor – which measures how full its planes are – was unchanged, at 95%, from June of last year.

On a rolling 12-month basis, Ryanair carried 173.4 million passengers; up 29% on a year-on-year basis.

Ryanair said that it operated more than 96,250 flights in June. However, around 900 were cancelled – affecting around 160,000 passengers – mainly due to air traffic control (ATC) strikes in mainland Europe.
