Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary has hinted at increased passenger capacity and lower fares as a result of an earlier than expected boost to the airline’s fleet size.

Speaking to the Reuters news agency, Mr O’Leary – Ryanair’s group chief executive – said the airline now expects Boeing to deliver 25 of Ryanair’s previously ordered new planes by October; earlier than the originally-expected Spring 2026 delivery date.

Mr O’Leary told Reuters: “[The deliveries] give us a bit more capacity, and we feed that capacity by lowering air fares.”

“The quality of what they’re delivering is excellent, so we’re really impressed,” he added.

Regarding current trading, Mr O’Leary said Ryanair is continuing to see strong booking levels this year and still expects to recover most of last year’s 7% fare decline in its current financial year.
