Ryanair has added more than 5,000 extra seats to accommodate football fans travelling to matches in the knock-out phases of the Uefa Champions League and Europa League next Spring.

The recent draws for the next round of both competitions resulted in a number of big-name clashes including Liverpool v Real Madrid, Manchester Utd v Barcelona and Chelsea v Borussia Dortmund.

Some of the extra flights will depart from Dublin, Manchester and London Stansted.

In all, to support pent up demand, Ryanair has added extra seats for fans in the UK, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Germany and Portugal available now on Ryanair.com.

Ryanair’s Director of Marketing, Dara Brady, said: “We’re delighted to add over 5,000 extra seats for the Champions League and Europa League matches in February and March next year, as fans make travel plans to watch their teams play in the likes of London, Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester, Madrid and Milan. Seats are already selling fast so fans should log onto Ryanair.com and book to now to avoid missing out.”
